OLD PEOPLE

Which sounds like an old person the most???

1.  Someone who rushes home to watch Oprah or tapes it if they might miss it.

2. Someone who watches until after Wheel of Fortune is over to go and run their errands.

3. Someone who wakes up at 5am on a Saturday to be the first ones to a scoped out garage sale.

So its been awhile since I've been on here...  thought I'd tell you about my big day off!!  Saturday i unexpectedly had the day off so Shanna and I went on "vacation."  What's great about our friendship is that we are easily amused and when you put us together, it can be pretty fun!

So she had been asking me to go with her to Hominy and eat at this diner and go on the pretty drive.  James' mom asked about a garage sale in Pryor.  And since Pryor is on the hwy 20 that we wanted to drive we decided today was our day to take our vacation!  So off we went....at 6am!!!

We went to the garage sale...bought some stuff....ate breakfast at this amazing diner...saw some cyclist and a lady dressed up like minnie mouse so we took a pic...saw 'time square' (like in NY) and took another pic...went to Skiatook lake...waded in the water, walked in the sand, skipped rocks...then went on to Hominy...partook of the auto show...ate at the diner...good cobbler!  Lots of singing at the tops of our lungs and lots of laughing.  What a great day off!!!  And what a vacation :)

BIG DAY!!!

So today was a big day!  My great friends Shannon and John left today for their 3 yr mission assignment in China.  It was hard to say goodbye.  The tears were selfish because I am really really excited for them!  Then I got a phone call from my good friend Rick to say that he asked a girl an important question and she said yes!!  So he is getting married in December.  And then talked to my friend Moose.  He announced that they are pregnant with their second child!  Sooo much news in a few short hours!!  Life is soo good.  And so is good.

What's going on in you guys' lives???  How's school??

Jenna-how's the braces??

Back to School!!!

Well, for some of you it's a few weeks off still...but for me it's Monday!!!  We had preview night on Thursday. That's where the kids come in and meet their teachers and see their classroom.  It was fun.  Hundreds of families came.  I just love it.  I know that I will have a great year!  I'm blessed.

So...I'm off to enjoy the last weekend before school starts.  And yes...my youth-ites...we should have a back to school bash....any suggestions on what???  Put your suggestions in the suggestions box (aka leave a comment :)

Hasta luego.

Let the celebrating continue :)  I got to celebrate with Regan on Thursday and some of my classmates tonight.  For REAL graduating is bliss :)

Two Shout Outs!!!...One to my friend Regan who is blogging about 40 days of Purpose on her blog. Check it out what she is processing while reading the book.  (http://runruh.spaces.msn.com/PersonalSpace.aspx )  The other is to my youth girls...I've been telling everyone how proud I am of you for being so committed to the study.  So I just wanted you to "hear" me say it too!

I've been trying to memorize a passage from Ephesians 3.  (Hope it sounds familiar to some who read this :)  It was drawn to my attention during day 15 of the Purpose Driven series.  So I thought I'd recount here...roughly..."When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plans, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in Heaven and on earth.  I pray that out of His glorious unlimited resources that He would give me might inner strength through His Holy Spirit.  I pray that the Christ Jesus would be more and more at home in my heart as I trust in Him.  May my roots go down deep in the soil of God's marvelous love.  I pray for the power to understand, as all God's people should, how high, how long, how wide and how deep His love really is. (wrote to there from memory) May I experience the love of Christ, though it is so great I will never fully understand it.  Then I will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen."

Hope this grabs at you as well.  Let me know if you don't mind sharing what sticks out to you the most.  Have a good weekend.
